Here I am, 6 months since my yearly review and I decided it's time for an update.
I have lost, gained and lost again 5lbs and a few inches in my midsection - Christmas and Easter will do that to you! (I now weigh 115lbs(!), abs: 32", waist: 34.5", tummy: 34.5")
Looking back on my previous post from January 2010 I weighed 141lbs, abs: 38", waist: 40.5", tummy 40.5'. That means that in 3 years I have lost 26 lbs and 18" from my mid-section! Slow and steady does win the race!
Over the winter snowshoeing and cross country skiing did happen. Downhill skiing did not. However, weights, cardio and rock climbing indoors happened as well! Jeff joining me in most active efforts did not happen. I decided that his presence was not to diminish my efforts. That being said, he has been verbally supportive and continues to cook healthy meals with/for me.
I went on a Keyto diet for 10 days. I was successful at not eating carbs and Jeff rewarded me with a dishwasher as mine broke down 2 years ago. Yay! It was interesting to realize that I do not miss eating carbs and that I did not enjoy my 'cheat day' full of carbs and sugar. So, a modified version was decided on: low carb/paleo. Berries and greek yogurt for breakfast smoothies were added back in, as was spaghetti squash & yams for dinner. I find that this suites me best.
As for pants: I now am too small for the smallest size pant where I work. The exciting thing is that I now shop at other stores I never used to go in to! It's not as pricey as I thought and it's nice that they fit my new size properly
Now I am excited to see what the next 8 weeks will bring. Daily workouts (sometimes double work outs, ie: weights in the morning and rock climbing at night) and clean/paleo/low carb eating should result in more weight loss and muscle gain.
See you July 1st for another update!

Another Year Gone By
...and successes have been numerous!
I have lost (and kept off) another 4lbs and 2 inches off my midsection. (I weigh 120lbs, abs still at 33", waist: 35 tummy: 35)
However, I have lost inches off my ribcage and bust as well. From July 7 - Sept 8 I went down a dress size and needed new bras. Yay!
Another thing that I can not measure are my leg muscles that look amazing. My arms are coming along too, especially my triceps.
I went on a rock climbing camping trip for my birthday in August and realized that yes, I am a mountain climber in addition to an indoor wall climber.
Climbing indoors has also brought me success in another area of my life: I have a beau and his name is Jeff. We met climbing and have also taken up tennis, racquetball and go hiking together. It is wonderful to have another person in my world that challenges me to be active and eat healthy, as I challenge him.
This winter we are going to do cross country, downhill skiing and snowshoeing, in addition to indoor climbing, weights and cardio.
One thing I know, is that I have been self-sabotaging. I sneak cookies and chocolate and it's because I work at a clothing store and I fit into the smallest size pants there. I realize that other stores carry smaller fitting pants, but I don't get a discount and it's costly to buy new pants. However, today a customer suggested that I could simply get my current pants altered smaller for a fraction of the price. What a perfect idea! Now I really have no excuse...
With 6 weeks left before Christmas, I really would like to see my tummy flatten out. I know that it all boils down to the kitchen, carbs and cardio!!!

A Year Later
It's official! November 11, 2010 - November 14, 2011: 24 lbs lost and 17 inches off my midsection is gone! (I weigh 124lbs, abs: 33" waist: 35.5 tummy:36.5)
Eating healthy, working out/being active, positive attitude and the support and encouragement of wonderful people are my keys to success.
Now for the next 6 lbs and 8 inches... may the next 6 weeks begin!

3 weeks left
I weigh 125lbs and my Abs are 33.5 inches, Waist 35.5, Tummy is 36.5, bringing my total to 23lbs and 16.5 inches off my mid section, since last November!!!
Last week I bought a pair of size 2 (26) jeans! Today I tried on a pair of size 0 dress pants at work, and even though the fabric is stretchy, not only did I put them on, I did them up too! Ask me how excited I am? Ecstatic!
Seems that going to the gym regularly, eating healthy and drinking water really is paying off!
With 3 weeks left to go, I know that loosing 7lbs is not healthy to reach my goal of 118lbs, but I know that I am still working hard at it and it will come. I will do my best in these last 3 weeks to see what I am capable of!

6 Weeks Left
I weigh 127lbs and my Abs are 34 inches, Waist 36.5, Tummy is 37, bringing my total to 21lbs and 14.5 inches off my mid section!!!
My goal is still the same: in 6 weeks, November 11, 2011, I will weigh 118lbs! That means, a year after my blog post, I will have lost 28lbs. (November 22 I was 148lbs, making my total loss 30lbs!)
I still find time to lift weights 3 times a week, do 1/2 hr of Zumba and as much rock climbing on Tuesday nights as I can, and get cardio in on the other days: bike riding, walking or running.
In addition to eating healthy and drinking water, I am going to start to use my 'house' more. I have stairs that I can run up and down and while watching my lil man play, I can do leg lifts, crunches, yoga stretches and other basic exercises. In the basement, I have a deflated ab ball that I should re-inflate, a night time yoga video and an 8lb hand weight. Mixing up my workouts should get me passed this plateau and get me closer to my goal!

Checking In
I weigh 128lbs and my Abs are 35 inches, Waist 37, Tummy is 37.5.
That means since Nov 22 2010 I have lost 20lbs and 12.5 inches off my mid section!!!
Now, I realize that I was 128lbs back on April 11, but now my measurements are smaller too! (and I won't be going back up into the 130-135lbs range this time either.)
My new goal will be: in 8 weeks, November 11, 2011, I will weigh 118lbs! That means, a year after my blog post, I will have lost 28lbs. (November 22 I was 148lbs, making my total loss 30lbs!)
This date is super important to me, not only would it be exactly a year later, but it marks the 1 year 'anniversary' of meeting someone very special. This person really got myself back into gear. Not only working out and eating healthy, but feeling confident, strong and sexy.
I thought that it would 'do us proud' by achieving this amazing goal that was put into motion. What a perfectly awesome gift!
This goal should be easy to attain as I am rock climbing regularly, still go biking with my lil man, lift weights, dance when I can and have started to run! (Back on Canada Day weekend, at a hotel out of town, I decided to run on the treadmill. The rest is history.)
I'm eating much healthier now as well. I've been packing lunches and snacking on veggies. Now I need to drink more water!

5 weeks left in this round...
... and I am a bit frustrated! Over the last 9 weeks I haven't lost any more weight, in fact I've been between 130 -135. This is not where I wanted to be at this point! For now, I will settle for being my pre-pregnancy weight (124lbs) for my 30th Birthday in 5 weeks.
I have been getting more hours at work, which means that I am not getting to the gym to do my weights. However, at night I have been biking with my son in the carrier, trying to work up to getting all the way to the day home. I did join the Climbing Club that uses the Y's rock wall and have been going every Tuesday night for 4 weeks now. It feels great to be back into it!
Also, a few ladies and I have been going for walks, weather permitting, twice a week. It is great to connect with them and work out at the same time. Sure beats sitting and eating while catching up!
Food continues to be a bit of a struggle. I try to make healthy choices and pack my lunch. I still notice that if I cut up and prep veggies and fruit, I will eat it. The trick is making time to prep it! Some times I wonder if I am eating enough food in a day to match what I am burning off. Perhaps I'll start logging what I eat and how much I work out on a calorie counter online...
